We desire to share the love of Christ with Chinese-speaking communities (Cantonese and Mandarin), growing together as a loving, Christ-centered community. Our vision is to build a network of Christ-centered, caring faith communities across the Northern Metropolis—in homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

Vivien Yip
Vivien was born and raised in Hong Kong. She used to work in the health care sector. She and her husband, Sidney, are proud parents of two young adults, Grace and Christopher. During their ten years living in Singapore, Vivien encountered Jesus and began her faith journey. In 2014, upon completing her theological studies she joined The Vine as pastoral staff, serving in the Chinese ministry and Restoration ministry respectively. Vivien values authentic connection and finds joy in walking alongside others through seasons of growth, faith and transformation. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and dancing.
Sidney Yip
Sidney was born and raised in Hong Kong and counts it a great blessing to have come to know Jesus during his secondary school years. After relocating from Singapore to Hong Kong in 2008, he and his wife, Vivien, began attending The Vine. Sidney is passionate about home group ministry, and Christian discipleship. He served on The Vine’s Eldership Board for nine years, including five years as chairman. Since 2026, Sidney has co-led with Vivien the planting of The Vine Church in Sheung Shui, continuing his pastoral ministry among Cantonese- and Mandarin-speaking communities in the city. In his free time, Sidney enjoys travelling, playing tennis and reading.
