Born in the UK, Andrew moved to Hong Kong at age 12, where he met and later married his wife, Christine. They have a beautiful adopted daughter Mia. Andrew holds a Master of Theology, oversees the executive leadership team at The Vine, and is devoted to creatively telling the gospel story.

Jim McInnes

Associate Pastor

Jim and his wife Julie swapped the open spaces of New Zealand for Hong Kong in 2014. Jim oversees the Pastoral Leadership Team and provides executive level leadership assistance to Andrew Gardener. He holds a Master of Theology, loves teaching, and is passionate about the spiritual formation of believers.

Sandra’s broad, international experience in running operations for different business and her cheerful personality enables her to handle nearly anything with a smile on her face. She serves with her God-given leadership talents to ensure the health of every aspect of the church, from accounts, facilities, to staff.

Tom had a heart for the marginalised long before he moved to Hong Kong in 2007 with his wife Monique and four children. As Branches of Hope CEO, his dedication to God’s love and justice fuels the organisation’s mission to reach out and care for vulnerable communities in our city.

Karla Roscoe

Family Life Pastor

Karla, her husband Richard, and their two children have embraced Hong Kong as their home since arriving in 2002. Karla manages the Family Life Team and passionately believes that all generations can experience God’s love in transformative ways. Her favourite pastimes include trail running and sharing meals with loved ones

Ministry Life Pastor

Born in America, Derek grew up in Hong Kong and lives here with his wife Janice and two wonderful children. He holds an M.Div. from Western Seminary and is a certified executive coach. Derek oversees the Ministry Life Team which supports worship, production, prayer, courses, Sunday services, and events.

Community Life Pastor

Luise and her husband arrived in Hong Kong in 2007 and have enjoyed calling it home. She dedicates her ministry to helping people reach their potential and oversees the Chinese, Filipino, Men’s, Women’s, Missions and Refugee and Asylum Seeker communities along with Community Groups.

Ellison was born in Hong Kong, studying in the UK during his teenage years. He is married to Brittney, a true Texan. Ellison holds a Masters of Theological Studies and was a Youth Pastor before joining The Vine. His heart for developing people drives his ministry with Community Groups.

Monique Franz

Children's Ministry Pastor

Monique finds great joy in serving the diverse children of The Vine. She is from the US and has four children with Tom Franz, her husband of 26 years. Monique has a BA degree in Developmental Psychology and Education, and loves music, theatre, and serving others.

Chapman Fu

Youth Coordinator

Chapman was born and raised in Hong Kong and from a young age, felt called to full-time ministry. After spending some years working for Alpha, a course for exploring Christianity, he joined The Vine as the Youth Coordinator, where he channels his passion for developing and discipling young people.

Jessica Evans

Young Adults Ministry Coordinator

Jess was born and raised in Hong Kong, continued her high school and university studies in England and lived in London till she relocated back to Hong Kong in 2017.  She worked for Alpha International in London and her passion is to see young adults equipped and released to walk in the fullness of their God given identity, calling and gifts.

Chinese Community Pastor

Vivien was born and raised in Hong Kong, and is married to Sidney. They have two young adult children. She holds a Bachelor of Theology from Lutheran Theological Seminary (Hong Kong) and has a vision to develop a strong Chinese Community, for Cantonese and Mandarin speakers, at The Vine.

Missions Pastor

Growing up in the UK and Philippines, Matt came to Hong Kong with wife Karen and two children. He holds a MA in youth and missions and served as a youth pastor. His heart for God’s restoration of relationships and creation guides his ministry as Missions Pastor.

Jemma Stephens

Prayer Coordinator

Jemma relocated to Hong Kong from the UK in 2007 to teach in an international school. She has a heart for training and equipping people, loves exploring creative ways to engage with God, and is a stickler for the English language. Jemma also serves on the 24-7 Prayer Hong Kong team.

Discipleship Coordinator

Originally from the UK, but raised for much of his life in Hong Kong, Oliver oversees many of The Vine’s courses and discipleship initiatives. He holds a Masters of Theology and is passionate about helping individuals step into the fullest expression of who God has made them to be.

Stephen Negus

Refugee and Asylum Seeker Ministry Pastor

Stephen grew up in South Africa, met his wife Karen in Hong Kong, and after living in the US, they returned to the city in 2003. Stephen has been actively involved with the refugee community since 2005 and currently serves as Branches of Hope’s Refugee and Asylum Seeker Pastor.

Having grown up in Hong Kong, Jon discovered his love for worship through his involvement with worship at his family church. His desire to develop people spiritually and musically drives the work he does as Worship Pastor, a role he has held at The Vine since 2012.

Born in Hong Kong and schooled in Canada, Justin returned to Hong Kong in 2005 where his life was transformed at The Vine. He met his wife Patricia! Together they have two children. Justin is pursuing his Master of Ministry degree and compassionately serves those in need in the church.

A classic kiwi girl, Christine has kept her strong accent even after living in Hong Kong for over 20 years! With her husband Andrew, daughter, and dog, she enjoys the quiet and natural side of the city. Christine holds a Masters of Counselling and supports the restoration of people and relationships.

Vincent, a true Hong Konger, has been part of The Vine since 2009. He is happily married to Zoe and expecting his first child. Vincent oversees The Vine’s church services, coordinating volunteers and helping newcomers connect. He is enthusiastic about reaching both international and local communities in Hong Kong.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Summer‘s vision is to see lives transformed by God’s love. She moved to Sydney, Australia in her early twenties, where she gained international exposure in ministry, conferences, and the renowned local coffee community. As a New Zealand native, Kristy draws inspiration from the natural world and enjoys making time to immerse herself underwater diving, or being surrounded by greenery. She desires to creatively communicate God’s word through different art forms and works with a team of talented creatives to make this happen.

Accounts Manager

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Sana has worked in MNCs for over 20 years in Finance and Finance Systems and is certified in SAP FI. She joined The Vine in 2013 and oversees the books of The Vine and VCSL with her accounts team. Sana’s three children are in university, including her twin boys!

Originally from Malaysia, Nicole has been in Hong Kong for many years. She manages The Vine office and the personnel team in an efficient and caring manner. When she’s not in the office you’ll find her stuck in a good book, or travelling overseas.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in the US, Cliff returned in 2003 and was actively involved as a church volunteer. He met his wife Linnet at Oneighty, and they now have two beautiful children. Cliff chairs The Vine’s Finance Committee and has served as an Elder since 2008.

Nigel Raymont

Elder

Nigel, his wife Jill, and their family arrived to Hong Kong in 1999 and have been at The Vine since the church met at the Regal Hotel basement. He chaired the VC2 Steering Committee, has been involved with Alpha, and currently leads a Community Group with his family.

Sidney Yip

Elder

After a spiritual awakening in Singapore, Sidney and his family relocated to Hong Kong, joining The Vine 8 years ago. Sidney and his wife served bilingual Community Groups and the Cantonese Alpha course. He is a tent-maker, bringing his mission ‘to serve, care, and share life’ to his Elder role.

Originally from Hong Kong, Hudson left for England at 13 to attend boarding school. He returned to Hong Kong with his family in 2007 and began attending The Vine. Appointed in 2010, Hudson is passionate to see the church become more united. He currently works in education publishing.

Elder

Susanna grew up on the mission field in Papua New Guinea and has been involved at The Vine for 7 years. She is married to Glen and they have four children. Susanna has served as a leader in Community Groups, children’s ministry, women’s ministry, prayer ministry, worship ministry, and many more.

John Snelgrove

Founding Pastor, The Vine Ambassador

John and his wife Sandra came to Hong Kong in 1987 and arrived at the church in 1995. He began working full-time at The Vine in 2003. They use their pastor’s hearts, as well as their love for evangelism and prayer to connect with many Chinese and International churches.

Tony Read

Founding Pastor, Justice Advocate

Tony came to Hong Kong in 1986 with his wife Drusilla and their family. He has served as an Elder since The Vine’s start in 1997. From 2004-2012, he served with John Snelgrove as senior pastor. Today, Tony serves as Justice Advocate, connecting the church with relevant social justice issues.
